Destination Imagination is a volunteer-driver organization. The statewide program relies on a vast network of volunteers to carry out the three regional tournaments and the state tournament. If you want to help engage and empower the students in your community, there are many ways to volunteer or support Washington DI, including:

*Note: Appraisers must undergo a few hours of training before serving as appraisers. Anyone can serve as a support volunteer! Contact the Tournament Director if you have a preference - we need volunteers to help with sales, food service, photography, and more!

WA DI needs volunteers every year for various tournament positions, but we are also currently seeking volunteers for the following positions:
- REGIONAL LEADERSHIP - WA DI is always seeking volunteers to help run tournaments and promote growth in each region, though we are currently most in need of volunteers for the as-of-now-named Region A (Some teams located in King County, including those in the Bellevue and Redmond areas, as well as all teams located in Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, San Juan, and Island Counties) and Region B (Some teams located in King County, including those in the Mercer Island and Sammamish areas, as well as all teams located in Clark, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Pacific, Thurston, and Pierce Counties). If you are interested in helping with event planning for a fun, energetic tournament or are excited about supporting teams, working with schools, or championing DI in your community - please email [email protected] with your geographic location and areas of interest!

- Expense Reporting: Volunteers can download the Expense Report Form and submit via email or U.S. Mail for reimbursement or donation to Washington Destination Imagination. Committee members should complete the form and note the Board Member or Regional Director that approved the expense from their budget. Please submit receipts for all expenses over $10. Mileage Reimbursement is 60% of IRS Business Mileage Allowance - For 2021, reimbursement will be 34.50 cents per mile.
