2026 Barb Sailors Scholarship Application
WA DI will be awarding three individual scholarships for $2,000.00 each.
Applications must be received via email by March 7th, 2026 to be considered for a 2026 award.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must be:
● Currently involved in WA DI in a significant manner (i.e. Team member, Team Manager, Appraiser, DI Day Organizer etc.).
● At least a high school senior or older*
● Pursuing some sort of higher education
*Applicants do not have to be graduating seniors. They can be adults (anyone involved in DI in some way) pursuing higher education.
To be included with your application:
B. Visual presentation – PowerPoint (in ppt, pptx, or Google Sheets) or video (in WAVE, MP4, or Quicktime, limited to 5 minutes). Email as an attachment in the above formats.
C. Visual content – if you want to paint, sculpt, etc., you’re welcome to, but you will be submitting it as pictures and/or video. You’re also welcome to do something with digital design, as long as it’s in an easily shareable format.
D. Story – must be typed, double-spaced, and limited to 2-5 pages. Email submission.
E. Poem – must be typed, double-spaced, and limited to 2-3 pages. Email submission.
F. Essay – must be typed, double-spaced, and limited to 2-3 pages. Email submission.
G. Internet content – must be submitted in a form distributable via the Internet (i.e. free of intellectual property infringements and viewable with a standard browser). Email the URL of the site.
H. Have another idea? Awesome! Go for it!

- One letter of recommendation from someone of your choosing (optional)
- A “Creative Picture of You” – Here is your chance to be creative! We want to know about YOU and how Destination Imagination and creative problem solving have influenced your life. Choose one of the formats below to best convey this “Creative Picture of You”:
