How to Register your Team for the Regional Tournament

Welcome to the 2022-2023 Tournament Season!
Your first challenge as a Team Manager is to get your team registered for the Regional Tournament! You will have until January 13th, 2023 to register your team. You will be given resources and the following information to complete your task. Your time starts NOW!

Your Registration Checklist

Get started now so that you're not worrying or rushing at the last minute!
​Some elements are easy to complete, and some may take a bit longer than expected. May the Force be with you.

Registration Deadline: January 13, 2023
There is no tournament registration fee.

NO changes will be allowed after January 13, 2023 

1. Purchase a Challenge Program Team Number from Shop DI.org.  

2. Fill out information on DI Resources

• ​Log in to DI Resources and add the team manager(s) to the team​
• Complete a Background Check through Sterling Volunteers.​                                                                         

Alternatively, the Team Manager can log on to DI Resources and claim the team using the team number and order number obtained in Step 1. 

• Click the "Teams" tab, and then select "My Teams." Click on your team to access your team's page.                                                     

If the team manager doesn't have a DI Account, create a new one​

• Contact [email protected] if you have questions
• Enter team name, selected team challenge, and competition level.
• ​Note: Team member names will be added during the registration process.
• Make sure your registration is final by January 13, 2023. 

3. Sign up for a tournament on Register Your Team (RYT)

• ​Log in to Register Your Team with your DI user-ID and password
• Complete Team Manager Paperwork
• ​Send Team Participant registration link to parents:
  • ​This step can sometimes take a while as you wait on the parents. Consider hosting a meeting with team parents and have them all fill out the information together!     ​​             
  • Parents do not need a login account. You will be able to monitor their submissions. 
• Find someone to volunteer as an Appraiser
• Send Appraiser Volunteer(s) a registration link                                             
  • The appraiser volunteer MUST be over 18 years old AND out of high school. They are required to attend appraiser training and must volunteer for the whole tournament day. If you have more than one adult interested in volunteering, we can use them! 
  • Note:  The team manager cannot be the volunteer.

          Mark registration complete on or before January 13, 2023

- $25 team manager background check per team manager

​Avoidable Fees

​ No Volunteer Fee: $250 non-participation fee for not having an adult volunteer (over 18 and out of high school) attend training and appraise at the tournament.

Please note: Avoidable fees are not meant to be prohibitive, but rather to deter and help offset the added strain to our volunteer registrar when schedules or materials must be adjusted late in the season, and to our tournament directors when they do not have enough volunteers to host a fair and fun tournament for all.
