From the hand made period hoop skirts, dresses, apothecary cabinet door that converts from a horse image to a frog image, a giant baby that reacts to its mother’s various traumas, and a representation of a stomach that opened after birth, everything was detailed and creative. We were all very impressed as this huge effort was created by just 2 team members."	1 G IC Received the Renaissance Award for Outstanding Design, Engineering or Performance at the State Tournament: "This team wowed the appraisers by formulating a durable and moldable clay using glue, joint compound, flour, and toilet paper. They a 7 foot baby to convey the complications of childbirth in the 1600s."	1 Received the Renaissance Award - "This impressive two person team crafted a Presentation the Appraisers won't soon forget. Their scenery was composed of 60 tiles working together as a cohesive scene that transitioned and flipped in a chain reaction sequence to reveal a new scene. As impressive as this set was, it wasn't the only award worthy element this duo presented. An enormous baby towered over the stage and was as big as it was terrifying. As impactful as the baby was from the outside, its inner workings were seamless, complex, and elegant. It utilized a single power source to operate a cam lobe. This allowed the baby to come to life in a myriad of ways and gave Appraisers a Double Vision into the main character's body. The audience was enthralled and when the baby's jaw dropped, so did ours.

Ayan Gupta received the Spirit of Discovery & Imagination Award for Exceptional Spirit, Teamwork, Volunteerism, and Sportsmanship - “This DI Alumnus showed exemplary leadership and initiative in organizing an Instant Challenge workshop for the region. He pulled it off with minimal support from the regional core, including rescheduling the event after a snow cancellation. We would be lucky to have his continued support in coming years. Well done!”
