Appraisers

Each team must provide a volunteer to appraise at your Regional and  Affiliate Tournament (if your team advances). 

Appraisers are the officials who provide scores and feedback at a tournament. Appraisers typically commit to one day of training and one day at a tournament. In many cases, Appraisers volunteer to represent a specific school, organization, or team at their local tournament.

To be an appraiser, you must: 

• Be 18+ years old AND completed high school
• Not be a current team manager
• ​Attend the entire regional and, if your team advances, affiliate (state) tournament.
• Attend one day of training before the regional and, if applicable, affiliate tournament.​​ See Eastern or Western Region for appraiser training dates for regional and affiliate tournaments.​​​​

How you'll sign up 

Each team must designate a tournament volunteer to appraise at the Regional and Affiliate Tournaments. 

• Affiliated with a team? Teams will add your name as their designated team volunteer when they register for their Regional or Affiliate Tournament.​
• Not affiliated with a team? Let us know you're interested in volunteering as an appraiser at one or more of our tournaments: Sign up as an appraiser now. 

Tournament Support

Each tournament needs additional Officials to support the teams’ experience at their tournament. These tasks may include: running a registration table, helping teams check their paperwork, giving directions at a tournament site, and/or additional duties as needed.

Being an Official is typically a one day commitment.
