About the Destination ImagiNation Program
Destination ImagiNation engages young people from preschool through
university level with the promise of creating their own unique solution to a
variety of challenges. In solving a challenge, the teams learn and apply new
skills, interdisciplinary knowledge and critical and creative thinking
skills while having fun as a team. Each challenge can be directly connected
to national educational learning standards and to the
Washington State Essential Learning Goals and benchmarks. Particularly Goals three and four:
Goal Three: Think analytically, logically, and creatively, and integrate experience and knowledge to form reasoned judgments and solve problems.
Goal Four: Understand the importance of work and how performance, effort, and decisions directly affect future career and educational opportunities.
